Vegan & Natural Bathroom Essentials

Natural and organic beauty is becoming more and more an interest of mine lately. I've been using a lot more natural skincare this winter, which has been working a treat, so next I thought I'd start on my bathroom essentials. Happily Green People got in touch to ask if I'd like to try some of their latest organic products and share my thoughts.

Green People's ethics are really something I admire - their ingredients are natural, Fairtrade and certified by the Soil Association, as well as their many vegan products being approved by the Vegan Society.

I tried out their new Quinoa shower gel and deodorant, which both have essential oils of ginger and orange. Ginger is not my favourite smell, which is the only negative point I have to say! If you are a ginger fan you'll love these as they have a lightly spiced and uplifting scent of fresh ginger and citrus.

The Quinoa & Calendula Shower Gel is an organic blend with aloe vera that creates a creamy lather. My back can get very dry in the winter, probably from one too many hot showers, so using a natural shower gel that will soothe my skin is exactly what I need. As it's SLS free you don't get a lot of foam, but I'm thankful that it doesn't dry out my skin. Instead it feels lightly moisturising and very smooth, a lovely treat to wake up with on a cold winter's morning.

I've been a fan of natural deodorants for a while, as I've often found anti-perspirants (that block your pores to stop you sweating) to be sticky and a bit unpleasant. This new Quinoa & Prebiotics Deodorant does a great job of keeping me feeling fresh and clean without the chemical nasties. It's completely invisible, so there are no white marks on my clothes, and because it only has natural and gentle ingredients it doesn't sting after shaving. Most importantly, it lasts all day and I'm yet to feel the need to reapply even after a yoga session.

All together I'm very pleased with Green People's new offerings and would certainly recommend them if you're looking for natural, organic beauty that's kinder to the Earth and your body.

Are you a fan of Green People products? What are your favourite bathroom essentials?

January Cruelty-Free & Vegan Favourites

January Cruelty-Free & Vegan Favourites on Lovely Witches

January was such a weird month - I'm yet to settle back into the routine of blogging so I really want to say thank you for sticking around through my inconsistent posting! This month I decided to embrace blue toned photos rather than fighting the dreary winter lighting, but it may be time I invested in Photoshop. Let me know if you use it and if you have any tips ;)

For February I'm hoping to finally go completely vegan - I'm very nearly there except for the odd dairy product. The online community has been so supportive and helpful and seeing so many people participate in Veganuary was really inspiring. I also have a bunch of new vegan products to review and I'm planning on trying out some more new recipes too.

The Favourites

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

This little pink pot is a sugary, edible scrub that exfoliates your lips to make them super smooth. It's a sweet treat that's perfect for the colder months, plus it really tastes like bubblegum so I've been using it at every opportunity.

Hurraw Chai Spice Lip Balm

Mmm. I love the smell of this lip balm - just like hot chai tea. The flavour isn't the strongest but it's an all natural formula of organic, cold pressed oils which leave my lips lovely and soft after a good scrub.

Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel

I've been really addicted to grapefruits the last few weeks, so I'm loving this grapefruity shower gel to wake up with in the mornings. Lush shower gels always feel so thick and foam up a treat from only a little amount.

GOSH Eyebrow Pencil in Grey Brown

For ages I was after a cooler eyebrow colour to better match my brows, and I found just what I wanted with this eyebrow pencil. It's a few shades lighter than my hair colour which is ideal for a natural, everyday look. It's a soft consistency so the pencil does wear down quickly, and it's not as long lasting as I'd like, but I'm happy to carry it around for touch ups because the shade is just perfect for me.

Nakd bars

These natural snack bars have been on offer at Holland & Barrett and I just can't get enough of them. They're a great vegan snack to carry in my bag and as you can get them in pretty much every Tesco they're my favourite treat for the cinema too. Let me know if you have a favourite flavour :)
