Superdrug Moisturisers

Superdrug is such a great place to start if you're looking for cruelty-free, animal friendly beauty on a budget. All of their own brand products are leaping bunny approved and labelled as suitable for vegetarians or vegans which makes it super easy!

I've worked my way through a fair few of their moisturisers and here's what I thought of them.

Suitable for vegetarians and vegans

This is the one I'm currently using and I like the most. The packaging looks super expensive! It absorbs easily, feels light on the skin and leaves my face feeling soft. I have combination skin and find this moisturiser has just the right balance for it - no shine and no dry flakes either. I've happily used it all summer but I like to use a moisturiser with SPF all year round, so I hope it holds up through the cold winter months too. I got it half price for £4.99, but it's certainly worth the full price.

This one actually says it's "formulated for women 35+", which I didn't notice until after I bought it! It doesn't have an SPF factor, but does have a UVA/UVB protection system. It also claims to mattify, but I didn't really feel it had an effect here. As for the moisturiser itself, it has a lovely velvety feel on your skin and isn't heavy at all as some anti-ageing creams can be. Altogether a good moisturiser but not the one for me.

This moisturiser has two different kinds according to skin type; I bought the normal/combination one when it was half price as my regular one had sold out. Sadly I feel that it's just not as good quality as the slightly pricier options. The cream is very thick and doesn't absorb well. This left me with a lot of shine - possibly what the label refers to as brightening! Others with dry skin would perhaps have better results from it, and I've been putting it on my hands for now to use it up.

I really like this night cream - it sort of smells like almonds! I've had a cold this week and it's felt so nourishing to slather this on my face and all the dry skin around my nose (gross I know!) You know that tight, dry feeling your skin has after you get out of the shower? This is the perfect remedy for that - so thick and lovely and makes your face nice and soft again. It's also a steal at £2.99 and lasts ages.
